We are observing, in the political arena, a tussle between various self acclaimed educationist, politicians & media, on whether the reform have become a necessity for our education system.
My view is affirmative, reasons:
:Education means mental/physical growth of an individual, & present education system in India is not fulfilling this basic definition.
:Education is running on age old way of teaching & mugging, which is now getting obsolete as the way of learning.
:With the technological advancements sneaking into the education system, these are also demanding reforms to aid these for the maximum benefits.
:Education should involve the local society in reforms as well as students should be involved in the social activities to groom their personality accordingly.
Whether the present bunch of pseudo educationists, who are leading the issue, are the best people for the thing is also a concern.
So, feel free to share your ideas on this issue of the highest priority. Waiting for all your opinions on the issues.
Budget is a good ting, but I don’t think education sector is devoid of budgetary needs.It is rather the problem in the implementation part for the educational reform.
First of all we need to shut down the shops of education. There should be strict rules to govern the educational institutions. All the deemed universities which are not functioning up to the standards set should be closed.
Sir, what I believe that shutting down the shops will not work. Rather we can opt for a strict rule & regulations to be abode by these shops.
Who are these pseudo educationists? would you please call them by name? It's creating confusion. There are many well known and good educationists involved in this whole debate of overhauling the education sector.
Then comes our media, which is there to elevate any topic out of the proportion.& then, we, the Indian population which is expert of every trade.
You pointed out the right persons. The HRD minister himself is insufficient to look into the matter. Same was the case with Arjun Singh.
Plus mugging should also be replaced by some real learning...
Sir, see this notion, If the grocery shops at your nearest neighborhood are selling contaminated food & there are no options like malls out there, what will be your choice for the thing.
If we don’t have the potential to make people abide by the rules, it is the problem with us, not those offenders.
@Capt.
Sir I fully agree with you, but still things are to be worked upon in a manner that not only bookish education, but the sporting education is also a part of our academe.
@Sanwali
Ma’m I am not against reform, I am supporting the cause with this article, but yet it needs more than what our education minister has scoped about in present context.See Capt’s comment for further inputs.

No doubt reforms in education sector are necessary but these should be in a positive direction and not merely to benefit the business houses.

Yes you are right, it should work for the welfare of our human potential rather than for the business houses in the sector.
