Have you got a feel of the topic. No, ok, let me give a brief introduction of the situation.

In New Delhi the various mediums of transport are:

• Buses (Both DTC & private Blueline)
• Cars/Cabs (Personal/hired)
• Motorbikes (Personal)
• Autorickshaws (Hired)
• Metro Trains
• Local Trains

Of these, the widely used & available are the buses. So, a large proportion of population uses these. Not a new information for Delhites as Metro is not available to many a destinations, and other modes are not affordable for the majority.

Now a small scene:

I was going to Nehru Place from Munirka, on one of such buses. The bus was overcrowded with people one over another almost. Suddenly, the bus arrived to a stop and the conductor called for more people. Some people, may be they were in a hurry to get to their workplaces, obliged. The conductor, in attempt to help the people enter the bus, asked the fellow passengers to proceed towards the front half of the bus, but in a very rude language.

One gentleman was standing by me. He spoke to me “the passengers are compromising with their self respect to reach their destinations.”

I was into thoughts suddenly. Why people are not trying to retort to save their self esteem? Is that the reason that they are into a situation that they feel pressure to reach their workplace on time? Is the behavior shown by the conductor also doe to overboarded condition of the bus? What is/are the reasons?

The reason may be anything of the above, but the answer is unique: people need either more local trains or they need the corporates distributed all over the nation, rather than being in only as less as 5% of the cities. Do you agree? What’s your opinion?

The pathetic conditions of the commuters who avail the bus facility is so heart wrecking that the plight of them can only we understood if we put ourself in their shoes. Even the bus drivers are under tremendous pressure because of varied reasons which leads to accidents and the subsequent lose of life of the innocent people. God knows when will the authorities wake up from the sleep !!!!

In these days, the making bus journey is really painful, disgusting and risky. But, we have left with no option but to adjust with the situation as the metro lines are under construction and access to local train is not feasible. Delhi is becoming over crowded day by day. In proportionate to increasing number of population, the availability of buses (both blue lines and DTC) are limited.

I do agree that travelling in Delhi especially in buses is a tedious task, not to forget life threatening as well thanks to the ’so-called well trained drivers’!!The Blue Line bus popularly known as the ’killer bus’ is a threat to mankind...Am sure if we go by the rate of accidents that these killer buses cause, we will soon be an extinct species...However according to me firstly local trains is a very long drawn out process & Corporates I dont think can help in any way..The answer lies in Metro rail being extended to more routes as it is convenient and fast..As for the buses..I think drivers are a more serious issue than self esteem today!!We need to be alive to actually value self esteem...So lets discuss drivers please!!

Dude Ritesh you ever been to Bangalore? If there was ever a hell on earth it had to be Bangalore.. Atleast the number plates in Delhi are written in Hindi.. In this goddamned place it is only their local language.. And people here are so bad at traffic.. The auto drivers here.. Man.. I would love to send them all on a train to auschwitz.. wait a minute Auschwitz is a pretty place to die for them. Think of something worse...

boss,
I have been to Bangalore, but i didnt fine it a horrible exp....yes I saw a mishap in which the arm of a fellow passenger got trapped into the gate of bus n was damaged a bit....
but these are common for delhi...thanks to blueliners....
however the DTC is also going the same way, despite managed not to be in the list of accidents....
May be I did get the happiest memory of bangalore....
but it is we, who are responsible for the damned...we should complain to each n every table/channel..... then only we can hope that someone will see to the matter...

Well that was a little too extreme.. I apologize.. Any outsider in Bangalore would agree that the narrow lanes of the city are death traps and one of the most unfriendly places to walk on
