October 15, time: 15:30 almost. A biker was passing by Hero Honda chowk in Gurgaon. He was on the service lane, which is supposedly designed for those who drive their vehicle slowly. Suddenly, a vehicle (a crane) hits him and as he falls on the ground passes over his body. The onlookers try to save the person by taking the person to the hospital just yards away from the site, but after fifteen minutes of toil, the doctors declare him dead.
This biker was Mr. Bhupendra Bhushan Gaur, a Birla Sunlife’s agile official,a good friend & classmate of mine and sole offspring for his parents.
With such untimely demise of sole son, one can understand the psychological situation of the parents.
Who is going to pay for the damage, we have incurred that day?
The driver of the crane which passed over by his body, or the traffic police which was trying to get the onlooker’s statement to shut the case, after taking bribe from the crane owner, or the Govts. of Haryana & the central Govt, under whose tussle the place is so unsafe for the people passing by.
Yet to know about that.
The reasons for the frequent accidents in that area is that, there is a tussle over the development of the road, esp. the service lane, between NHAI & Haryana Govt. They throw the responsibility on each other.
As a result, the travellers have to go through this place from the wrong side, and with the thankful traffic police they drive in not less than 80 Km/Hr. In such scenario, how can one avoid an accident.
I wish someone responsible comes up to take the way to safe status.
cops of Gurgaon are responsible for the tragic death of biker Bhupendra Bhushan Gaur,a Birla Sunlife’s agile official at the Hero Honda crossing on October 15.
the victim’s parents within a week as
a compensation. And are accused must be
suspended without any mercy.
article.
Keep it up. Good Luck.

I would like to fight the system with similar, or may be better articles.
And the govt compensates such deaths because it is free money in their hands. We do not even hold anyone responsible for such lapses and the counter keeps clicking. I feel that involved agencies that are responsible for sinking the borewells, drivers/owners of erring vehicles whether private/company/govt owned, should be made to pay for compensation to the victims family.
It is quite painful to note that army is called out for assistance when there is much better and latest equipment available with civil agencies. Maybe because the army does not charge them anything and render selfless service. No one is bothered about the loss/depreciation of the equipment and loss of man-hours that the army suffers.
Coming to driving habits, should we blame only the larger vehicles involved in accidents. We all know that all drivers are in a hurry all the time, smaller vehicles zigzag through the traffic, whether there is space available or not. With the high-headedness of the drivers the temperatrue run very high. And all drivers feel that nothing can happen to them (before the accident). Now, who can we blame for a road accident. If I cant maintain your cool, I have no business to be on the road. I always drive keeping in mind that I alone can save myself. How is anyone else interested in my life.
So, all readers are requested to drive carefully making sure that even other’s mistakes do not get you. A very tall order in todays world, but, there is no shorter one.
All our heartfelt sympathies to the Gaurs and a prayer for Bhupender’s soul to rest in peace.
It was indeed a sad that such an incident happened. May his soul rest in peace.
We must understand one thing. Mere expression of anger does nothing. Merely fixing responsibility does not change society. We must change and become an instrument of change. Each one of us. Only then he society shall become responsible. Only then the police and govt will become sensitive. Are we disciplined. The crane driver is an Indian as much as we are. When we see an accident and lose a close person, we react with anger that the driver was over speeding and moving in the wrong lane. But many amongst us break rules with impunity. Till the educated people become disciplined, they have no right to expect others to be disciplined.
Hope the educated amongst us realise this and stop breaking rules.
I had a recent memory of fighting spirit. I had gone to a sweet(jalebi) shop in my hometown with my paternal uncle. When I asked the rates, he told rates are decided by two system, one for the piece way & other for the weight way.We chose the later one, but then he rather than using the weighing machine, used his sense of accuracy for theweighing purpose. My uncle retorted, but here I was a bit lenient to the shop owner as it was the best shop for the sweet(Jalebi).
Later when we were walking down the lane to return to home, my uncle ordered me to get the weight checked. I unwillingly followed the order. And my Uncle was right. The quantity was not accurate but there was a wide gap. He told me to immediately return to the shop for the issue. I again unwillingly followed him & the things were sorted out.
Later on we were discussing the issue at home in front of my father, (who has recently been appointed as University head for Department Of Mathematics), told me that you should fight the system in such a way, otherwise you have no authority to blame a system.
yes, we, the people in the system have to get it smoothen.
And it is generally the educated drivers who are in a hurry and dont give a damn to fellow drivers. Truckers, who are less educated, are comparatively better disciplined than others.
So I hope we the educated ones would try and discipline ourselves first and stop breaking rules. As with the new vehicles, the mistake tolerence has reduced considerably.
